Our Feline Veterinarians
Just what are the qualities and characteristics that make pet owners comfortable with their veterinarian?
At the Scaredy Cat Hospital, we believe that caring and compassion are the obvious and necessary traits that all vets must have.
However, it is understanding, intelligence, resourcefulness, and intuition that make a veterinarian excel at helping cats and their owners. Further, the best feline vets possess the ability to communicate to the pet owner the nature of their cat’s illness so that an educated, balanced treatment plan can be instituted.
Our doctors exhibit all these characteristics (just ask our raving fans!). Meet them below…
ANGELA WOOD
DVM
Dr. Angela Wood was born and raised in Minnesota and is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison school of Veterinary Medicine. Her interest in animals started at an early age, as she grew up on a farm and even worked as a vet assistant while in veterinary school.
After graduating, she completed a one year emergency & critical care internship. She brings the clients of The Scaredy Cat Hospital the most up-to-date knowledge of all aspects of care and treatment.
ERIN FLYNN
DVM
Raised in Rhode Island, Dr. Flynn earned her bachelors of science in animal science and technology from URI. She worked for 8 years as a general practice veterinary technician with phenomenal mentors. There, she was aligned with a feline sanctuary, which sparked her love for cat-only care. She was inspired to go to vet school after seeing the impact that could be made on cats who were considered “unadoptable” and feral. She graduated from Midwestern University in 2022 with her doctor of veterinary medicine degree.
Dr. Flynn loves working with cats who need extra time and space to settle, and has interest in multi-modal pain and chronic disease management. She enjoys soft tissue surgery and feline dentistry.
She resides in Phoenix and enjoys spending her free time exploring the beautiful scenery of Arizona, volunteering for a local cat sanctuary, and taking care of her 4 cats and geriatric rabbit – Beverly. She is inspired daily by her Faith, her 2 sisters, and her bonus parents who showed her how rewarding it can be to take care of cats who are in need.
She feels truly honored to be a part of the Scaredy Cat Hospital team, and is looking forward to meeting you and your cat!
